Sierra Madre Fire Update

Based on the most recent available reports, a fire broke out broke out along the Mount Wilson Trail in Sierra Madre at 3:08 pm. The fire has currently burned less than 2.5 acres and at this point in time has been contained by firefighting personnel.  The fire is slow moving and is currently contained to the high hills. There are currently no structures threatened. As of this point, there is still no threat to Monrovia as a result of this fire!  However, as a precaution, the City will continue to keep Canyon Park and the Hillside Wilderness Preserve closed for the remainder of the day.

 

The Monrovia Fire Department will continue to monitor this situation, and if anything changes that may impact the safety of our community, the City will be certain to provide immediate notification at that time.
