Old Town Monrovia’s Seventh Annual Food,
Wine & Jazz Festival (FW&J) will be held on Sunday,
September 7 from 5-8 p.m. back in the heart of Old Town at the
500 block of Myrtle Avenue (between Lime Ave. and Colorado Blvd.),
in Monrovia, CA.
Attendees are invited to ‘excite their senses and savor
the flavors’ at this annual end-of-summer soiree and spend
a leisurely evening under the stars sampling menu specialties
from area restaurants and sampling wine and spirits from California
vintners and spirit producers while enjoying a variety live
jazz performances.
All the proceeds from this enjoyable event benefit Monrovia-based
community organizations.
The Santa Anita YMCA (SAYMCA)
is this year’s beneficiary. As far back as the 1870's
there was a YMCA in Monrovia. Through its programs the organization
has been building a community “…where all people
are encouraged to develop their fullest potential in spirit,
mind and body”. All programs are structured around character
development building blocks of caring, honesty, respect and
responsibility.
With each passing year the FW&J Festival is eagerly anticipated
and continues to grow in popularity—now in its seventh
year and located back in the heart of Old Town the limited sponsorships
and tickets are expected to sell-out well in advance. Advanced
ticket sales and sponsorship reservations are strongly encouraged.

Last
year’s festival raised more than $20,000.00 for the
Library Foundation, a non-profit committee, formed to raise funds
for furnishing, equipping and decorating the new Public Library
when construction is completed.
