Bus Lines

As of June 2016, Foothill Transit became the service provider for bus lines in Monrovia.

Foothill Transit Line 270 - North / South via Primrose Avenue / Myrtle Avenue / Peck Road

Line 270 serves Monrovia, Irwindale, and El Monte. Destinations include Old Town Monrovia, Station Square, Peck Road Park, Norwood Library, and the Rio Hondo Bike Path.

  • Detour at Gold Line Station During Construction!
    Line 270 buses are detouring around construction in Monrovia until approximately August 2017. During this detour, the stop at the Monrovia Gold Line Station will not be served. Please use the Line 494 stops at Myrtle and Pomona instead.

Foothill Transit Line 187 - East / West via Huntington Drive

Line 187 serves Pasadena, Arcadia, Duarte, Azusa, Glendora, La Verne, San Dimas, Claremont, and Montclair. Visit one of the many popular destinations located along line 187 such as Claremont Village, Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden, Citrus College, Duarte Bike Trail, Old Town Monrovia, Westfield Santa Anita, Pasadena City College, Old Town Pasadena, and Pasadena Museum of California Art.

Foothill Transit Line 494 - South of Huntington Drive via Myrtle Avenue / East of Myrtle Avenue via Huntington Drive

Line 494 serves El Monte, Monrovia, Arcadia, Duarte, Azusa, Glendora, and San Dimas. Destinations include Civic Center Park, San Dimas Farmers Market, Citrus College, Haugh Performing Arts Center, Foothill Swap Meet, Hayden Memorial Library, Duarte Bike Trail, Old Town Monrovia, Mt. Sierra College, Irwindale Speedway, El Monte Museum of History, and Rio Hondo Bike Path.


Bus Passes at the Community Center

MTA and Foothill Transit bus passes are available for purchase at the Community Center at 119 W. Palm Avenue.  Feel free to stop by in person or give us a call (626) 256-8246.  Click here for a handout showing prices based on the type of fare.


Tips for Transfers

A 1-Way Trip purchased using a TAP card will include transfers to other Metro lines for up to two hours to complete a one-way trip. If the fare is paid using cash, transfers will not be included. Complete details on the new fares can be found at www.metro.net/fares.
