Memorial Day Ceremony

Memorial Day is a day for remembering and honoring military personnel who died in the service of their country, particularly those who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained in battle. The wearing of poppies in honor of America's war dead is traditionally done on Memorial Day.

Memorial Day Poppies are available at the Library’s Circulation Desk along with a donation box for patrons to make a contribution of their choice for each poppy. The poppies are handmade by veterans as part of their therapeutic rehabilitation and 100% of donations go to help local veterans and their families.

The Library’s Veterans Resource Center staff and volunteers will be onsite at the Memorial Day Ceremony at Live Oak Memorial Park (200 E. Duarte Rd), at 10 a.m., on Monday, May 27.

This event is open to the public and everyone in the community is invited to attend.
