Community Garden Composting Workshop
- Date: 09/21/2019 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
As part of the new Community Garden program, the City will be coordinating gardening educational workshops throughout the year, and all of these workshops will be free and open to the public! The first Garden Workshop was a Success!
Monrovia Community Garden hosted its first workshop: Veggie Gardening 101 to over 35 community members. Attendees learned about seasonal planting, pest and disease control, and basic gardening knowledge.
The second workshop will be held on Saturday, September 21, 9 a.m. – 11 a.m., and will be focused on Composting! During this workshop you will learn about all things compost: What you can and can't compost, different types of compost methods, and all about our community compost program. All are welcome!
Also, in case you missed it, the Monrovia Community Garden was recently featured on Spectrum News. Award winning journalist, Ryann Blackshere Vargas interviewed one of our plot holders, Giangelo Leos and our Garden Director, Dr. Kristin Ritzau. Watch the story on Spectrum News story!
