Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Monrovia With Two Special Events

Post Date:12/19/2018 10:30 AM

Residents and visitors are invited to ring in the new year on Myrtle Avenue with two very special events.

Noon Year’s Eve

On Dec. 31, gather in Library Park for the City’s first-ever Noon Year’s Eve! Since midnight may be too late for young children to stay awake, Noon Year’s Eve was created so they had the opportunity to celebrate New Year’s Eve during the daytime. All ages are welcomed to participate in family fun activities, with a special Noon Year’s Eve Celebration at 12 p.m.

This event is completely free to the public and will take place in Library Park at 321 S. Myrtle Ave., 10 a.m. – 1p.m.

New Year’s Eve on Myrtle Avenue

On Dec. 31, the City of Monrovia, along with the Monrovia Old Town Advisory Board, and the Old Town Merchants, are set to present the annual New Year's Eve on Myrtle Avenue beginning at 7:00 p.m.

There will be live music, a wide selection of restaurants offering an enhanced outdoor dining and drinking experience, and a celebratory ball raising at midnight!

For those who will be joining the celebration, please note:

  • Through GoMonrovia, those traveling to the event can unlock a LimeBike, or grab a Lyft ride for a $3 Classic ride or 50 cent Shared ride.
  • Parking in Old Town Monrovia is free, but limited due to the event's size. We encourage carpooling and arriving early. Visit the City online to learn more about parking options.
  • Childcare services will be provided by the City at the cost of $20/child, ages six to 12.
  • Admission to the event is free to the public.
