Monrovia Area Partnership Leadership Academies | Youth and Adult
Adult Leadership Academy
Thursdays | September 12 – October 24 | 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM | Library Community Room
The Monrovia Area Partnership (MAP) is a city program facilitated by Neighborhood Services Staff. One major goal of the MAP Program is to encourage residents' involvement in their neighborhood and in the community. Through the MAP Leadership Academy, we train residents to recognize and utilize city resources; provide leadership skills; and encouragement to become engaged in the community.
Youth Leadership Academy
Wednesdays | September 11 – October 23| 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM | Library Community Room
The Monrovia Area Partnership (MAP) Youth Leadership Academy is similar to the Adult Academy but is designed for middle and high school aged youth. The Academy’s goals are to assist the youth in learning, developing and growing. We start by exploring with them how they themselves are leaders (even if they don’t know it yet!); then they are given examples of how others use their skills to make a difference. After learning from others, they learn how we work together as a community and ends with putting all that they learn into ACTION.
