The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) is a complete set of financial statements that summarizes the City’s financial activity for the fiscal year. Monrovia's fiscal year runs from July 1 through June 30.

The CAFR is prepared by the Administrative Services Department and follows generally accepted accounting principles. 

The CAFR is comprised of six main sections: 1) Introductory Section; 2) Financial Section; 3) Basic Financial Statements; 4) Required Supplementary Information; 5) Supplementary Information; and 6) Statistical Section.
