Senior Tech Day

Are you frustrated by technology? If so, the Monrovia Community Center and Youth Commission, are pleased to offer instruction in the use of mobile platforms, smartphones, cellphones and other tech gadgets. Join us to learn about technoilogy and digital devices. Drop in for free!

Spring Recognition Luncheon - Older American of the Year Award Nominees

This recognition luncheon will be recognizing all seniors who have been nominated for the Annual Older American of the Year Award for their volunteer services provided throughout the year. If you know someone deserving of this award or would like to join us to celebrate all nominees please call to reserve your seat!

Monrovia Days Parade Viewing Party

What better way to celebrate our beautiful community and our youth than coming out to support our Monrovia Days Parade! The City of Monrovia invites you to join us on the parade route with seated saved for members from our Senior Clubs and Caring Crafters! Please plan on arriving at 9:30 a.m. and enjoy some coffee and light refreshments before taking a seat in a reserved location for prime parade viewing!

Summer BBQ Party!

Join us for an afternoon of bingo and lunch to celebrate Memorial Day! All are welcome to participate for a small fee of $5.00. The fee includes games and lunch.

Classes

AARP 55-Alive Mature Driving Program

This eight hour driver safety course is held at the Monrovia Community Center. The two-day course will focus on current driving laws and provide participants with helpful hints on improving their driving skills. Reservations must be made in advance and payments are to be given to the instructor, on the first day of the class. For reservations, please contact (626) 256-8246.

Time:       9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Fee:         $15 AARP Members, $20 Non-AARP Members
Payable by check only to AARP on the day of class.


Active Adults and Senior Exercise Class

Community Walking Club

Come join us for a leisurely walk throughout the community to increase physical activity among older adults. The Community Walking Club will meet every Friday at the Monrovia Community Center. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes.

Caring Crafters 

If you have an interest in knitting, crocheting and hand work or would like to learn, join us at the Community Center every Wednesday. The Caring Crafters is a social group that meets every Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and is designed to foster friendships and provide social opportunities while crocheting and knitting. The group always welcomes new participants to teach and share new ideas! This free program is offered to all Seniors and Active Adults!

Lunch & Learn Events

You are invited to the Community Center on the second Thursday of the month to enjoy lunch and to get informed on a variety of topics. Each program is open to seniors 50 years and older. Reservations are required by calling (626) 256 – 8246.
